Description

An emblematic estate in the Beaujolais region, Château des Jacques has long been closed to the public, but is now opening its doors and cellars to visitors.
You'll discover ancient winemaking methods that are unique in the region, vaulted cellars dating back to the 17th century, and taste three wines with very different characters. We're keen to share our passion for the Beaujolais terroirs and our grape variety, Gamay, so we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the winemaking profession or wine tasting, from the simplest to the most technical.

Meet us at 11am for a tour of the cellars, followed by a tasting of 3 wines, from which you can choose the bottle to accompany your lunch. For children, or anyone who doesn't drink alcohol, we offer a tasting of three different grape juices (Chardonnay, Gamay, Merlot).

At 12 noon, you'll be given a picnic basket of local produce (from the lovely Maison Bobosse) to enjoy at the winegrower's table in the grounds of the Château des Jacques, in the shade of a magnolia tree.

Menu:
- a nice local mix of 3 pieces of fine traditional deli (cold meat boar, duck and pork)
- Ouroux goat cheese
- Bread
- Dessert (according to the season)
- A bottle of wine, winejuice for children

The estate has a car park in the grounds, bordering the rose garden. The gate is also accessible to pedestrians by train (Château des Jacques is a 7-minute walk from Romanèche-Thorins station, on the Lyon-Dijon line) or by car (45 minutes from Lyon/15 minutes from Mâcon).

Opening
