Description

Day 1
Morning : You will be heading south to the prestigious
Côte-Rôtie vineyards. Take a stroll amongst them to learn
why this wine is so exceptional. You will immediately be
seduced by the magnificent view over the Rhône valley
and the steep hillsides of these vineyards.
You will delight yourself with additional 5 or 6 different
wine varieties. Among them, you will taste Saint-Joseph,
Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie AOC. During the tasting, you will
appreciate the considerable aromatic richness of these
great wines.
Lunch in a local restaurant
Afternoon: You will be heading south to the legendary
vines of Hermitage. Cultivated on the left banks of the
Rhône in a very special terroir, the wines you will discover
require high temperatures to produce their particular
red fruit and wild flower aromas. You will start with a
breathtaking view overlooking the vines and the Rhône
River at the Hermitage hill Belvedere. Your guide will tell
you about the story of this mythical wine. Afterwards,
you will push the door of a local winery and taste 5 or 6
different Côtes du Rhône wine varieties. Among them, you
will find the excellent AOC wines : Hermitage and Croze-
Hermitage.
You will taste the best wine of the region and see beautiful
vine landscapes !

Day 2
Morning : A roman city that gave its name to the wine of
this region in the roman times, it is a “mustsee”
! Vitis Vienna was one of the best wine of
the Roman Empire and the city of Vienne had
the second commercial harbour after Ostie.
Come and live this history and taste this wine
still exceptional today !
Vienne is at present a small town, but with an important historical past.
We will tell you the secrets of this Roman city, which
became an important town in the Middle-ages as
illustrated by the majestic cathedral.
Vienne represents nowadays one of the most important
archaeological heritages in France. During a stroll in the
lovely old town, you will see several Roman remains
such as the Temple of Augustus and Livia built in the 1st
century BC.
We will then go to the other side of the Rhône River to the Côte-Rôtie
vineyard for a wine tasting in a local winery. You will delight
yourself with the spicy and red fruit aromas but especially
the elegance of the Côte-Rôtie.
Lunch in a local restaurant
Afternoon : Do you like cheese and wine pairing ?
You will discover another local
speciality, which is certainly worth the trip for
people who love “food & wine“ matching :
the Rigotte de Condrieu, a goat cheese with a
subtle and fragrant taste !
You will drive through the Pilat Natural Regional Park.
After climbing the steep hills we will
stop in a typical farm of the Pilat Park, where you will
have the chance to meet a producer. A look at the goats
of course before leaving the farm with some delicious
cheese, which you will match with the wine of a winery
nearby.
You will be delighted to taste 5 different local wines to pair.
Your taste buds will remember the taste of the Côte-Rôtie,
Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and the
wonderful local cheese for a while !
