Description

Since the glacier quaternary action, the Artense plateau is stained by many lakes and reservoirs, hollows and bumps. Between moors and meadows and following the erosion, many rock’s blocks and tourbières appeared in this region where the visitor can feel a mysterious, magic and hard atmosphere, from Champs-sur-Tarentaine to Marchal or having a break in Trémouille. Since the 70’s, the rivers in the Artense region has been adjusted in order to go to Bort-les-Orgues dam as the Tarentaine and the Eau verte artificially turned off course thanks to underground pipes towards Tact reservoir and then to Crégut lake, going to Lastioulles lake joining the ort reservoir at the end.
