The Tour des Vaches Rouges (Red Cows Circuit), also known as the Cézallier Circuit, is a 5 or 8-day magnificent hiking trail located on the unspoilt high plateaus of Cézallier between the Cantal Mountains and the Sancy Mountains. Discover the best of Auvergne’s landscapes: between the departments of Cantal and Puy-de-Dôme in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park, in a land of Salers cows, volcanoes and summer pasture lands. Enjoy exceptional panoramas of the Chaîne des Puys, the Sancy Mountains and the Cantal Mountains.
There are 3 loops to choose from: the 135 km main loop, the 78.5 km western loop or the 84 km eastern loop, each one with magnificent landscapes revealing the passage of time and the life of the men and women in the mountains of the Massif Central. Along peaceful paths through summer pastures, discover villages, churches, abbeys, fountains, wash houses, bread ovens and rich everyday heritage.
