The Rougemont trilogy :
An event in 3 acts which has for framework a medieval yard aiming to build the city of the lords of Rougemont, family attested since the XIth century on the commune of Aranc in the Ain. The site including monumental gate, hall, forge, sculptor’s workshop … will come alive on the occasion of 3 events:
- Act 1: the medieval Rougemont on July 9 and 10
Birth of Garnier de Rougemont’s first son: Humbert. Lord Garnier decides on this occasion to give a great feast where lord, knight, and craftsmen will demonstrate their talent.
Program: falconry show, camps and animations around the arts of war and life in the Middle Ages, demonstrations of medieval know-how by artisans (wood turner, basket maker, illuminator, weaver), musical wanderings and medieval dance, on-site catering …
- Act 2: the talents of the Rougemont from August 4 to 7
Garnier de Rougemont wants to improve the defenses of his fort and embellish his strong house, for this he calls on the best craftsmen of the region.
Presentation of craft trades of the Middle Ages with demonstrations, practical and playful workshops on know-how, tale on mathematics and medieval geometry, children’s playground, …
- Act 3: the nightmare of the Rougemont on October 29 and 30
Garnier de Rougemont, is haunted by his nightmares. He dreams that monsters, straight out of illumination, invade his territory.
By some means or another, the monsters will end up on the construction site. These monsters will be hunted by visitors who will come to the site. Tales and fire shows and other surprises!
