During 1 hour, the brand new Lyon City Tram take visitors to the famous district of Lyon : « Croix-Rousse », also called « the hill wich works », in reference to the Silk craftsmen. Effortlessly, the tram goes up the hill throw narrow streets and gets great panoramas on the city and over the Gallo-Roman Amphitheatre. A stop is possible at the top of the hill to visit silk workshop, ‘traboules” on the slopes and to enjoy the very special atmosphere in what Lyon residents call a “village within the city”. The particular design of the touristic tram-train is a tribute to the former funicular that ran on the Croix-Rousse hill from 1862 to 1967.
