Additional information

This short walk is suitable for all and offers the chance to find out more about the valley’s protector, Saint Guerin.Saint Guerin’s statue takes pride of place on the front of the church at Plan d’Avoz, in the village centre. This two-hour walk offers visitors a chance to see some of the church’s reliquary treasures, to wander through the listed Aulps Abbey hamlet, visit Bas Thex hamlet and its traditional architecture (chapel, chalets), and learn about how the story of the place is closely linked to the historic monument...The walk finishes at the forest’s edge, in front of Saint Guerin’s oratory, where it’s said that the blessed man (who was unlucky for once) fell from his donkey and died...Once the walk is over, a teatime snack will be provided at the Vallée d’Aulps Discovery Centre.
