The Maison de la Mémoire et du Patrimoine proposes to you a (re) discovery of the Gay-Couttet family's photographic collection, deposited in the Municipal Archives of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in 2012. This collection is made up of approximately 12 000 photographs glass, slides, etc.) taken between 1880 and 1980 in Chamonix and in the Alps mainly. On the ground floor, walk through Chamonix between 1880 and 1980 through the eyes of a photographer dynasty (Michel, Auguste and Adolphe, Justin and Roland). Upstairs, discover the wide open spaces, the mountains and the magnificent landscapes, as well as the sporting prowess (climbing, climbing, skiing, automobile, etc.) that have made the city famous.
